Microsoft Outlook Sync Issues After 4.0 Client Install

After installing the Outlook client for Microsoft CRM version 4.0, you notice messages piling up in the "Sync Issues" folder in Outlook as in the screenshot below:

Syncerror_3

This is caused by viewing a shared calendar.  This was also a problem in version 3.0, but a hotfix was released for it.  The only way I have found to keep the errors from piling up is to remove all shared calendars from your Outlook.  Otherwise, this will lead to poor Outlook performance including delays when typing emails.  To remove the shared calendars, first choose to work "offline" in Outlook:

Go_offline_2

Next, go to your "Calendar View" by selecting the Calendar Icon at the bottom of the left navigation menu.  Finally, right+click on each shared calendar and choose "Delete Calendar".  Note, you are only deleting the calendar from your local .OST file:

Delete_calendar_2

After deleting the calendars, you can choose to "Work Online" just as you chose "Work Offline".  Empty the Sync Issues folder and it should stop filling up.

When a fix becomes available, I will post a link to it here.

Hi Jason,

Thanks.
Carsten

I see that Microsoft has a fixed posted for this. Does it work?

Thanks for discussing the issues... found very helpful...

Not sure if this patch will correct the problem we are experiencing with Outlook 2007 and the CRM plug in. I am running with XP Professional on a new Dell laptop with 2GB of RAM and loading up Outllok takes 5-7 minutes if it even loads. I removed the CRM plugin from the ADD-In but wanted to see if there was other options?

For fix errors try use-download pst repair tool, yet application is free,it extract data from corrupted files with *.pst or *.ost extension, will be prompted to choose a file to be repaired, it may be files in *.ost or *.pst format, tool will decrypt the input file and attempt to extract all data, that is located inside, extract data safely, even if your *.ost file is infected, however, antivirus software should be installed on your PC,save recovered data, first of all, you can convert it to a *.pst file, that can be opened by any email client, compatible with Microsoft Outlook, also extract a great number of files in *.eml,*.vcf and *.txt formats, may help us to improve these Microsoft Outlook pst repair tools.

Yes.. I feel that should fix the issue. Does anyone know the fix for Outlook Search disability after installing the Google Apps Sync plugin?

Thanks.
