Microsoft Dynamics CRM Statement of Direction White Paper

Microsoft has released a white paper detailing the statement of direction of CRM 4.0 and beyond.  Some highlights:

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0

  • Mobile Express 4.0 will be released during Q3 2008
  • CRM 4.0 SharePoint webpart to be released before the end of the year
  • CRM Accelerators

Microsoft CRM Online

  • Details of the next 3 updates to CRM Online

Dynamics CRM "V.Next" (the next version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM)

  • Increased integration with SharePoint
  • Team Selling
  • Streamlined, more personalized user Interface
  • More hierarchical view of Accounts and Contacts
  • Recurring activity support

 

Some pretty exciting stuff coming.  It's great to be involved with a platform that is continually being enhanced.

what a damn shame the information is locked up tighter than Fort Knox.

I'm just a lowly analyst/programmer on a small team, hacking DynamicsCRM to try and make it do what we need. The "customer" is the bosses' bosses' boss so no hope of getting access through him.

as for the "partner" who consulted on this install, man, we haven't seen him for dust. took a huge wad of cash and bolted - bad luck for all the follow up questions we had.

so, I found your post after taking an interest in wanting to see where this platform was heading, see if it's really worth the time to care about it.

... and sadly I've come away none the wiser. Meh.
